Polestar Automotive

Polestar is a Swedish automotive manufacturer that produces high-end electric performance vehicles. The brand is defined by minimalistic design, technological innovations, and sustainable solutions.

Working in a wonderful dynamic cross-discipline team on the Polestar Component Warehouse (PCW) project, we oversaw the research, design, development, and integration of the Polestar Design System across Polestar's marketing sites, ecommerce solutions, web apps, and internal systems. The PCW serves as the crucial backbone for all of Polestar's digital properties.

Within a tight-knit development and design team, we explored ways to abstract and enhance common user interface patterns, frequently developing these into new components. Our efforts extended to rigorously iterating and refining previous solutions. We provided comprehensive support and guidance to development teams across Polestar. We maintained our fully tested TypeScript react-based components library in Storybook, where we showcased extensive examples of use, provided excellent documentation, and best practices for accessibility, including detailed right-to-left (RTL) language support.

Beyond PCW, I collaborated closely with the marketing teams responsible for Polestar’s critical customer-facing touchpoints. I helped implement our components, offered support, and developed custom solutions across various TypeScript React-based projects using frameworks like NextJS, Gatsby, and Remix.
